Follow Reforma toward Bosque de Chapultepec and the city opens into one of the largest urban parks in the Western Hemisphere — a cultural district in its own right.
The first section of the park brings together some of Mexico City’s essential museums, historic sites and contemporary art spaces, with lakes, gardens and long walks in between.
Museo Nacional de Antropología – A cornerstone for understanding Mexico’s pre-Hispanic cultures and living Indigenous traditions, with major archaeology and ethnography collections.
Museo Tamayo – Modern and contemporary art in a landmark building within Chapultepec, with rotating exhibitions spanning Mexican and international artists.
Museo de Arte Moderno – A key stop for 20th- and 21st-century Mexican art, set within the park’s museum corridor.
Chapultepec Castle / National History Museum – Mexico’s hilltop historic castle combines national history, period interiors and elevated views across Reforma and the city.
Bosque de Chapultepec – Beyond the museums: long walks, lakes, gardens, cultural venues and a green reset from the pace of the city.
NEIGHBOURHOODS TO GET LOST IN
Roma Norte – Tree-lined streets, early-20th-century architecture, galleries, independent shops, coffee, restaurants and bars. Roma is one of the city’s strongest expressions of its current creative energy.
Condesa – Leafier and more residential in feel, with Art Deco architecture, parks, neighbourhood restaurants and an easy day-to-night rhythm around Parque México and Parque España.
Polanco – A polished mix of design, fashion, restaurants, galleries and major cultural institutions. Avenida Presidente Masaryk anchors luxury retail, while Museo Jumex and Museo Soumaya create a contemporary art and architecture cluster nearby.
Downtown - Only 3.3 km from Hyde, the Centro Histórico layers Tenochtitlan, colonial Mexico and the modern capital around the Zócalo. Key stops include Templo Mayor, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Palacio Nacional, Alameda Central and Palacio de Bellas Artes.
Coyoacán - A slower, village-like side of the capital known for plazas, markets and the Frida Kahlo Museum. It is farther from Reforma, but worth setting aside a half-day.
MUSIC & NIGHTLIFE

Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez & Estadio GNP Seguros – Major concert, festival and motorsport destinations, including the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix at the Autódromo.
WORTH THE DETOUR
Frida Kahlo Museum / Casa Azul – Coyoacán’s most requested cultural stop and the former home of Frida Kahlo. Advance online booking is strongly recommended.
Xochimilco – A different rhythm of Mexico City: canals, chinampa landscapes, markets and colourful trajineras in the south of the capital.
Teotihuacán – A major archaeological city approximately 48 km northeast of Mexico City, home to the monumental Avenue of the Dead and some of Mesoamerica’s most recognisable ancient architecture.
